An example of life!

What part of your body you appreciate the most? If you ask a player or a dancer, possibly they meet her legs. If asked a guitarist or a pianist, we will answer your hands. What if we asked the drummer of a heavy metal band? Surely we will answer your arms, right?

Today I bring you the story of Rick Allen, a drummer who lost an arm in an accident.

Born on November 1, 1963, Rick Allen started at the early age of 5 years to use utensils of his mother as if they were a battery. By the 10th, he got his parents to buy him one, pointing to percussion lessons.

With only 15 years because his father responded to the announcement, it became part of the British rock band Def Leppard and heavy metal, as drummer following the abandonment of Frank Noon. A year later, in 1979, Rick Allen abandoned his studies to focus on his musical career, like the rest of the group. In 1980 he released his first album for sale on through the night, which was followed in 1981 High 'N' Dry and Pyromania in 1983.

It is in 1984, more specifically the December 31, Rick Allen suffered an accident while driving by who had to amputate his arm. This made the band was out of the scene until 1987.

Amputation of an arm for a drummer would have meant the end of his career. But Rick did not give up. With the help of Jeff Rich, former drummer of Status Quo and battery maker Simmons created a special drum machine for him, so he could continue playing with the rest of Def Leppard. In 1987 they released their album Hysteria, which sold 15 million copies.

From then until now they have been released for sale in June more disks.

Electronic drums are as "triggers" to note when struck with the stick or with the pedal. Battery Rick Allen had the main drums placed in front of him and right (which was the remaining arm) and the main pedals to its left, firing the sound box and timbales.

Later, Rick Allen and his wife created "The Raven Drum Foundation", a charity aimed at helping children with disabilities to overcome their limitations.
